    SKILL MATCHING DATABASE

The Skill Matching Database helps match skilled people, who have applied to migrate, with skilled vacancies or skill shortages in Australia.

The Skill Matching Database contains the educational, employment and work details of skilled migrants and includes many who are interested in living and working in regional Australia. The database is used by employers for employer sponsored migration categories as well as by State and Territory governments.

Applicants who have their details on the database are not guaranteed a job in Australia or migration application approval.

If you are under 45 years of age, have Functional English and a degree, diploma or trade qualification, you can apply for a Skill Matching  visa. You are registered on the Skill Matching Database and may be nominated by a State or Territory government for a Skilled Matching visa, or sponsored by an employer under the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme. This category is not points-tested. The Skill Matching visa has been designed to help overcome skill shortages by helping migrants to settle in parts of Australia where their skills and abilities are in demand. This is done by placing their details in the Skill Matching Database. The database is accessed by State and Territory governments and employers who may then nominate an applicant for migration.
